About
Aakruti was established in 1980 as a collaborative design studio. Over the years, our repertoire has diversified from architectural solutions to interior design, exhibition design, and furniture design, to institutional design management and master planning, to name a few.Since 2009, Aakruti has also been involved in making of turn-key projects with a specialised division, SARAA, delivering varied scales of ‘design and build’ or just ‘build’ challenges for corporate and individual clients, across the country. Our design approach is a collaborative exploration of traditional/vernacular knowledge with contemporary design innovations. An outlook towards meticulous, yet modest detailing is an integral component. Our team is a mix of architects, interior designers and technicians along with a range of specialised experts and consultants that we work with, to deliver an integrated design solution.
Dilip Patel founded Aakruti, in 1980. His design methodology, much influenced by his traditional upbringing, has been to sensibly respond to the existing parameters of site and program. He is an alumnus of the School of Architecture (CEPT), Ahmedabad. Apart from his design oeuvre, he has also been a regular Visiting Faculty at the Faculty of Architecture and Faculty of Design at the CEPT University, Ahmedabad. Since 2012, Dilip also offers his services as a Campus Architect to the CEPT University.
