Our Projects
About
Mindspace was formed in October 2004. We are a Bengaluru-based architectural firm with extensive experience handling residences, apartments, universities, schools, research labs and corporate offices.Several of our projects have received national and international awards and have been featured regularly in architectural journals, magazines and online publications. Mindspace was founded by Sanjay Mohe, Vasuki Prakash and Suryanarayanan. Presently, the firm comprises the partners, Sanjay Mohe, Medappa, Suryanarayanan, Amit Swain and Swetha A with a team of over 25 architects, engineers and support staff.
Our Philosophy
Our projects attempt to use ‘light’ as a building material, respecting the five senses – sight, sound, smell, touch and taste, and integrating the five elements of nature. The underlying theme in all our projects is to participate, understand and work with nature, while also trying to imbibe culture and people’s aspirations. We try to create buildings that are simple, but not simplistic; modest and not monumental. As designers in a tropical context, climate is an integral part of our work. We work towards creating naturally cooler internal conditions through building orientation, creating buffers to avoid the harsh sun, minimising glazing on facades with high radiation, and bringing in natural light and a strong airflow into the building. We believe in ideas without limits, spaces without boundaries. Architecture, for us, is much more than aesthetics, it is about the soul. It is about falling in love with an idea and fighting relentlessly for its realisation.
